Dear WINKS Supporters,
Thanks to your support, WINKS has made great strides this year in advancing our mission, increasing our capacity to support brain tumor patients, and achieving financial sustainability. Below are some of the highlights in 2023:
- WINKS announced the appointment of Lance Kawaguchi to serve as Chairman of its board of directors.
- Lance started a remarkable journey to Antarctica and the South Pole with a mission to raise a flag on New Year’s Day on behalf of WINKS and 23 other cancer charities around the globe. #SouthPoleTrek4Cancer
- WINKS awarded $10,000 in Empathy in Action Grants and distributed 133 Brain Tumor Power Packs through our partnership with 10 local medical facilities.

Encouraging Nods Quarterly Support Group
Bringing together Brain Tumor Patients and Caregivers to uplift each other through compassion, sharing, and understanding and to help each other cope with emotional challenges.
WINKS will host our next support group in May 16, 2024, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Participants can attend in person or online.

Terrelle Bradshaw Empathy in Action Grant
Terrelle "Terri" Bradshaw, a retired Naval Officer, a woman of strength and dignity, and a loving mother was diagnosed with brain cancer in November 2015 and fought the good fight until October 2016.
Contributions made to the nonprofit in tribute to Terri will be awarded to a brain tumor patient or caregiver of a military family in financial need.
